1. It’s Holding You Back
If you’re focusing too much on your body, your diet, and your workouts, you won’t have enough space in your brain or time in your day to focus on the other things that truly matter. Your career and relationships can’t flourish if your mind is preoccupied. Your insecurities could prevent you from going after something you want. Your fears could mean missed dinners with friends or turning down a date with Mr. Perfect. Let go, and see how far life can take you.
2. You’re Not Your Best Self
You’re awesome. You’re beautiful, fun, smart, and caring. But when you’re too focused on the foods you eat, you lose some of those wonderful qualities. You can get irritated and irrational if you’re not nourished properly. No one wants that.
3. It’s WAY More Fun!
Seriously. Pizza and beer are wonderful. Trying new restaurants and creative dishes is so interesting. Going out to eat with friends is usually full of ridiculous stories and historical laughter.
4. You’ll Get Stronger
You can’t build muscle if you aren’t eating enough. It’s true. Even after not working out for months, I was stronger when I got back to the gym just because my body had the fuel it needed.
5. Better Sex Life
Yeah. Women really need estrogen for this department to thrive. Low body fat = zero estrogen = bad news for that significant other of yours. Very worth it.
6. You’ll Feel Sexier
Hear me out. I know this is probably the opposite of what you’re thinking. You think you’ll gain weight and feel awful. Well guess what! Having a sex drive, boobs, and a butt makes you feel AMAZING. Knowing you’re a healthy, functioning woman is beyond incredible. Gotta trust me on this one.
Spontaneous activities are the best memories. Last minute trip to the lake? Order a pizza for dinner? FROYO pit stop? Not being stuck to a rigid schedule or being concerned about your exact food choices is so liberating. It sucks to miss out on all those fun times when you’re caught up in disordered thought!
8. Better Sleep
Sleep is awesome. You will sleep better when your body is healthy. Life will get infinitely better solely because you are sleeping better. Fact.
9. Less Sensitivity to the Cold
When you’re too low on body fat, you will be freezing all the time. Sweaters in the summer. Extreme hatred for winter. Tears when you can’t feel your fingers. Once you get healthy, this doesn’t happen as much! You get to feel like a normal person, which is awesome.
Not everyone struggling is female, and not all females care about having babies. But if birthing a child is something you want, you need to get healthy. First, you don’t want your future child to be raise by a mother struggling with her body image. Second, you kinda need to have a period to get pregnant, and then will need eat enough to properly grow that baby. Unfortunately some women, even at healthy weights, aren’t able to have children of their own. If you are lucky enough to be able to, don’t give that up because of preoccupations with weight.
