I’m teaching my first class as an official teacher today!
I’m subbing for the studio owner and teaching a Slow Power class, which is mildly heated and just a little less vigorous than our standard power flows. It’s still based on the standard Baptiste Journey Into Power sequence, though, so it won’t be too far out of my comfort zone. I’m excited to get a little creative and teach a different style of class than I’m used to!
My plan is to get to the studio early and go through my own practice before people start to arrive for class. I’m going to try to practice before I teach as often as possible so the poses are fresh in my mind. I think it will help my cueing and let me share more about what works for me with others. If I can’t get in a full practice, at least taking a few moments to reflect and journal should get my mind in a good spot to teach an effective class.
90 Minute Vinyasa Yoga Playlist
As I’ve mentioned before, we don’t typically use music during our classes. Music is saved for Friday community classes, but there are a few select teachers that choose to use it more often. I’ve actually really enjoyed making playlists for some of the classes I’ve taught!
I put together this playlist for the 90 minute classes the teacher trainees co-taught this past weekend. Again it starts a little bit more upbeat and then slows down for the floor poses and stretching. I hope you like it!
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!!
