The Nordstrom Fall Sale is going on now through Nov 12th. Guys, being in Boston was TORTURE!! We had to walk through the Prudential Center (a big gorgeous mall) multiple times a day for the conference and everything was so beautiful! I need to stop liking clothes so much. I'm actually trying to be really good about only spending money on quality, classic, staples that I can wear forever. That means lots of neutrals and less trendy stuff, but preppy classic has always been my go-to style . . .
First, y'all rock. Thanks for your comments on yesterday's post! I will try to share more "real thought-y" type posts like that! I'm feeling totally uninspired by fall fashion. Not that there isn't cute stuff out there, but so much of it is super trendy and will go out of style soon, or is completely impractical for my hospital-based lifestyle. I've been crushing hard on GAP lately, though!! Sometimes their pieces are a little too simple, even for me, but this year I'm really feeing it. PS - . . .
I started uploading photos for this post, and realized my new white blouse is getting LOTS of use! It's one of those that I hesitated to buy because I don't *need* any new clothes, but it was on sale (still is!) and I'm really glad I went for it. I didn't have a nice white blouse, so it has quickly become a staple. Here are a few work outfits I've worn lately. My current mission is figuring out how to transition work clothes into fall and winter. The hospital is super warm in the winter from . . .
I love shopping at Target. Some of my most complimented pieces are from there! My most current fave is the Who What Wear line, but the brand new A New Day line is going to give it a run for its money. It's so cute and of course is a great price. And to brag a little - my sister-in-law is on the team at Target that helped create this line! It just came out this week and I already have a list of things I want. I definitely want to try these pants for work first. They are such a cute style, . . .
I'm a few months into clinical rotations and getting used to wearing real people clothes to work each day. Long time readers remember that I used to share my work outfit every day back in my former marketing life (feels like a lifetime ago!). It was nice to be able to wear workout clothes to class for a few years, but I really do enjoy putting together cute outfits! Getting dressed for work is different now for a few reasons - there are more restrictions to clothing as a med student, both . . .
Have you heard enough about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet!? I am an expert online shopper. Or more online looker. It's my time wasting activity of choice :) And maybe you'll relate - there is nothing more frustrating then getting really excited about a sale, only to realize everything is still insanely expensive. Getting marked down to $400 is not helpful for me! So today I'm sharing some great stuff that's actually under $100 - a little more doable for my current budget. The . . .
Happy 4th everyone! I happily have the day off and I think we may try to get to a pool for most of the day, although I don't need any more sun after Florida this past weekend. Jake Owen is playing at Fair St. Louis tonight, so if we're in the mood we may brave the crowds. I hope you have some fun plans! There are some great sales today!! I'm sharing my current favs from each store, and had trouble limiting it to just this much!! Have to use all my willpower to not buy it all. Let me know . . .
Inpatient psychiatry is a really interesting place to start rotations. The patients have to be physically stable to be placed on the psych floor, so I haven't had to perform a physical exam. The psych version of a physical exam is called a mental status exam, which assesses a patient's cognition, thought process, insight, etc. The diagnoses we've seen include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, borderline personality disorder, and drug-induced psychosis. We just . . .
Hi from Indianapolis! My uncle recently had some major surgery (he's doing well), so my aunt, mom and I are up here to spend some time with him, but I get the bonus of seeing my best friend too! She's having a little meeting/Christmas gift exchange with the owners of the yoga studio she manages (If you're in Indy you MUST go to The Hot Room) so I'm sipping on a green juice and popping in for a quick block post. Outfits for holiday parties are so fun. I always wish I had more fancy . . .
How is everyone? Still full? Out shopping already? My family has never been into the Black Friday shopping. I'm not into early mornings and crazy crowds. But Cyber Monday? That I can get into. I do almost all of my shopping online. And luckily now it's pretty much just awesome sales all weekend, so no need to wait until Monday! I've gathered some of my current favorites for you guys, and I'll be eyeing the sales to see if there are some great steals! Teri put together a "sales" page on . . .
