Last night was med prom! Most medical schools have a "prom", which is kind of silly, but also SO fun. At SLU it is primarily first years that go, although there were quite a few fourth years there for their last hurrah. We took it as an excuse to get all dolled up and go take pictures in Forest Park, which is the popular spot for high school kids to take pictures for their actual proms. It was packed with people, and I'm sure we looked just like another group of 18 year olds! (My . . .
Have you guys heard of Shabby Apple? They used to do a whole bunch of blogger campaigns (this is not one, fyi) and the clothes were always cute but maybe a bit...matronly? Well I saw this post from Here & Now and clicked through to see the dress was Shabby Apple! That led me to browsing a bit (because I am very good at study procrastination) and I fell in love with a million things. The stuff is definitely still modest, and maybe I'm just getting older and more conservative, but I think . . .
I LOVED THE OSCARS DRESSES! Yay! I wasn't thrilled after the first two big award shows this season. I am a lover of clean lines, classic looks and solid colors, and this year's Oscar's red carpet gave me tons to gush over. I actually had to pare down my list because I liked quite a few, but below are my absolute favorites. And no I did not stay up until the end. And I apparently need to see more movies. Birdman seems like the one I should check out first, yes? Here's my best dressed list. . . .
Did you watch the Oscar's last night? I thought Ellen did a great job. Lots of beige and nude on the Red Carpet, which usually aren't my favorites, but I liked a few! There were TONS of amazing dresses! Here are my picks. (images from hollywoodlife.com) Amy Adams Cate Blanchett Emma Watson. (I'm obsessed with her.) Jennifer Lawrence. Kate Hudson. Lupita Nyong'0 Maria Menounos Jenna Dewan Tatum What were your favorites? . . .
Total change of topic. I didn't really watch the Emmys. I sort of did while reading chemistry, but I didn't pay attention. I don't watch TV except for the morning news, and I didn't even know they were on until like 6:30pm. As usual, the main interest to me in awards shows is the red carpet. Here are a few of my fav dresses from Sunday night: For other fav award show fashion:Fav Oscar Dresses 2013SAG Best DressedGolden Globes Dresses2012 Emmys Best Dressed Sophia Vergara. My clothes don't fit. In the past few weeks I've chosen to take my health seriously and conquer my eating issues once and for all. I'm eating more and working out less. Truthfully, if my metabolism weren't so damaged I may not be gaining much weight. However due to years of under-fueling for the amount of exercising I was doing, it seems that my body isn't quite happy where it is. So I'm finally letting my body heal and learn to trust me. That means eating consistently more and not stressing my . . .
I admit I didn't pay attention to much of the actual awards part of the Emmys. I meant to, but I was getting some work done and talking to people and so was distracted. I did make sure to watch watch the red carpet (and of course went back and looked at everything online) so let's talk dresses. There honestly weren't any that blew me away this year, nor any that I felt were just completely ridiculous disasters. But of course there were some I liked more than others, so here are my . . .
My body woke up naturally at 6. I considered going back to sleep for a few more minutes, but I know it feels way worse to wake up to an alarm so I just got up. The drizzling rain wasn't a problem since I planned to do some quick sprints at the gym. I'm still not running much, but a few times a week I'm trying to get in a short sprinting session for some anaerobic cardio. Just not as much focus on that distance stuff anymore. I've been loving Tabata lately! In just four . . .
