When we first graduated back in 2010, we ended up seeing each other fairly regularly at football games. Then people got busier, we got older, and and suddenly it felt like forever since I'd spent time with my best friends! We had our five year reunion, but also decided to start doing weekend trips at least every two years. Our first one was in Napa (here are the blog posts: Day one, Day two) and this year we took advantage of my parents' new place in Hilton Head. 7 of the 9 of us were able to . . .
Heyyy everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. I was lucky enough to take Friday off and get in a trip to visit Brittany and Laura. Brittany is my best friend from when I lived in Louisville, and Laura is my best friend from Notre Dame. I usually try to get to them at least twice a year and this is going to be my last chance until the holidays. PLUS we had a big birthday to celebrate in Indianapolis! Louisville First stop was Louisville where I arrived just in time for some delicious . . .
It was a very low key Christmas in the Brady house this year. My younger brother spends Christmas with his fiancé, and my older brother spent most of Christmas day with his girlfriend, so there were just a few of us at the house. That's okay though - time spent with family and friends is always a treat! Friday Night I taught my regular 5:30pm yoga class and then quickly changed to meet all my high school friends for an engagement party. I don't see them enough, so it was so fun to catch up. We . . .
I just got back from a long weekend in Indianapolis with my best friend, Laura. If you're a new reader - Laura is my best friend from college. She got her graduate degree here in St. Louis and then moved in Indianapolis for work. We don't get to see each other too often these days, so it was so great to be able to spend some extended time with her. Friday night we went to Glowga at her yoga studio, The Hot Room. Laura teaches Bikram there, helps manage the studio, and runs a health . . .
Seeing Brittany just feels like home. Brittany always asks me when I'm "coming home" to Louisville. ;) I only lived there for a year!! But the sentiment is real -- it was a wonderful place to live and Brittany and her family made it feel like a real home to me. We met over coffee one morning - a normal "blogger meet up" - and just clicked. Look how little Baby D was back then!!! And then when I broke up with my boyfriend and felt completely lost and alone in "his" city, she and her husband . . .
San Francisco // Napa Day 1 Our second day in Napa was wine tasting day! It was Sunday, and we had booked a driver to drive us around in our rental van for the day. We were up early, scrambled around for coffee and breakfast, and then packed into our mom-van. Meet Manny. A friend had used him before, and he was a hilarious ball of energy all day! He had recommendations and "ins" and was a perfect host for Napa. Here's his website. Our first stop was Alpha . . .
(San Francisco Recap) Saturday morning was one of the funniest I've had in a long time. We were all a little slap happy from little sleep and a late night dancing, but had to get up and moving to drive our two rental cars from San Francisco to Napa. We decided we wanted to drive over the Golden Gate bridge since we hadn't made it there the day before, but between the two cars we couldn't seem to get the same GPS directions. We were driving through an unknown traffic-y city, not really . . .
Last night was so fun! I got to see my best friend from college and my best friends from high school at the SAME BAR! I had 2 glasses of wine and we chatted and laughed away all night. Got to bed much later than I wanted to and definitely have the munchies today, but soo worth it for a fun night out:) ANDDD I found out two of LB's friends are running the marathon with us now! Yippee for more running . . .
