I can 100% say I would be thrilled to receive anything off of today's gift guide. If you got a yogi in your life, or perhaps someone wanting to get into yoga, these are the things they need to be all set for their flow. From a good mat and towel, to fancy props, to a fabulous outfit (I am so into all the green this year if you couldn't tell), you can't go wrong! The best gifts to give are the ones they want but would never ask for, right? Here's my Gift Guide for Yoga Lovers: If they're . . .
What an incredibly wonderful week in Hilton Head with my family. We came down here for Thanksgiving last year, and apparently it's becoming a tradition. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak away for a few days in the coming years, even though I won't have the whole week off. It's so rare that my whole family is together (my little brother and his fiancé live in Minneapolis), so we really value the dinners, movies, games, and laughs together! New games we played: Dixit & One Night . . .
Yesterday we had our immunology exam. I would say a general theme (with the exception of the people that studied immunology extensively in undergrad) was that we felt very underprepared. It wasn't that we didn't study, it was that we finished an entire immunology textbook in 5 days and that just isn't enough time to completely grasp a complicated subject. Luckily everyone I've talked took passed the test. Also, immunology is pretty cool. Test days are so funny. The start out . . .
I LOVE giving gifts. On Valentine's day, I love giving my friends and family something little to show them I love them - just a little surprise to make them feel special even if they don't have a big romantic date planned. I first made these simple pretzel treats back in college and resurrected them this year to give to coworkers, friends, and fellow yogis. JC might sneak a few too. These 5 minute DIY Valentine's Day treats are easy, cheap, festive and delicious -- doesn't get much better than . . .
Who has last minute gifts to buy!? So mine WOULDN'T be last minute except that one of my brothers just sent his list YESTERDAY and the other one still hasn't yet!! YES Christmas is in like five days. And yes my family does lists. Otherwise we get gifts we don't care about and are upset we didn't get things we actually wanted. (Such an awful thing to say because gifts are not what the season is about!) Anyway, there are lists. And my brothers therefore have no presents yet, and I . . .
As I got in bed to go to sleep last Thursday, I stopped to reflect on how different Thanksgiving felt this year. In a wonderful way. I didn't wake up at 6am to run a Turkey Trot, so I was able to stay out with my friends and have a few drinks on Wednesday night without worry. I let myself sleep in and actually skipped the workout class I was going to go to with my harp teacher, but wasn't upset. I needed the sleep. Then I went downstairs and made myself a full breakfast instead of . . .
TOTALLY forgot that I was supposed to show you the Christmas gift I made for my friend Lauren. I left y'all with a little teaser that it included these... Did anyone make any guesses? Well what I made my wine loving friend was super easy personalized wine glasses! I actually didn't find this craft on Pinterest, but I did promptly pin it when I found it on a website. Supplies All I needed were a set of cheap wine glasses, as well as stickers, glass etching paint, and a brush or . . .
My day has totally taken a turn for the better! First, I had an awesome conversation with an executive at work about starting healthy living initiatives. Then my guest post went up on Julie's Blog. Then right after I finished making two amazing Irish dishes, I found out I won Terra chips from Sophia! Talk about a lucky duck! **** Since tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, I felt inclined to make a traditional Irish meal. You do know that people in Ireland eat don't corned beef and cabbage all the . . .
