Hey STL friends! Some of you may remember a few years ago when I ran a 5k called CDM Mind and Body. It was such a fun day dedicated to celebrating health, and I'm excited to share it with you again. Before the race a few years ago with Becca! This year's race is at the beautiful Tower Grove Park on Saturday, May 27th 2017 at 8am. Online registration ends on Wednesday May 24th, at 5pm. This year the day's activities include the Tower Grove Farmer's Market (my FAV!), Yoga by . . .
Most days wearing something other than workout clothes feels like an accomplishment. I have a flexible schedule which I am trying to soak up now before I start clinical rotations, but somehow the days always manage to get jam packed. Mornings are rushed, sleep is at a premium, and I'm always wishing I had more time. Aren't we all? Even though I don't always go to morning classes, I usually have to be at school at least some point throughout the day. And those all-too-often crazy days . . .
Be up to something bigger than yourself. That's one of my favorite themes in Baptiste Yoga. How can you use your talents and power to benefit others? How can you become your best self and then share it with those around you? In fact, part of our yoga teacher training is to come up with an idea to bring yoga to others. I'm not totally decided on what I want to do yet, but I am inspired by my recent yoga "classes" with my dad. It's been really helpful for his bad back and arthritis, and . . .
Who here has a Facebook feed bombarded with Rodan & Fields, Beach Body, KEEP Collective or some other product being sold. **raises hand** They are all the rage these days!! I love seeing people so passionate about what they do and wanting others to share that same passion, but let's be honest...it can get to be a little much. Rodan & Fields One that has always tempted me, though, is Rodan & Fields. The before and afters I see are amazing!! Plus it was created by two . . .
Saturday morning my friend Alli and I co-hosted a surprise engagement party! A classmate recently proposed to his girlfriend and she'll be moving here next year, so we wanted to let her know how excited we all are. It was a tea party theme thanks to some delicious new teas sent to me by Lipton, and turned out even more adorable than we had planned. Check out the cute tea-themed invitation from Paperless Post! If you sign up you get a bunch of credits for free:) Lipton has new . . .
This post is sponsored by ALDI. In my first ALDI 101 recap, I told you guys all about shopping the store and the operating efficiencies they used to keep their prices so low. This time...the FOOD. The first thing we did when we got to ALDI was head to their test kitchen to try what seemed like every single thing they sell. I wish they had said come starving because all they did was feed us! First we did a blind taste test -- an ALDI product vs. the national leading brand. We each . . .
The following post is sponsored by ALDI. I am SO excited to tell you guys about my ALDI trip. I'm still on a little bit of a post-trip high. We were so spoiled and I learned so much. I even went straight to ALDI from the airport when I got home - got all my grocery shopping done! So here's an #ALDItruth ....I had a negative perception of ALDI prior to this trip. I had only one previous experience with a store in a bad area of town when I was little, and part of the reason I wanted to . . .
I carry my stress in my upper back and shoulders. Anyone else? I get big painful knots and my shoulders sneak up towards my ears and I beg my boyfriend to give me just one minute massages sometimes. But yoga helps too, thankfully. And I've learned that often when my upper back hurts it's often because my chest is tight. The muscles get scrunched into odd positions after sitting at a desk all day. After a great twisting, heart opening, back bending yoga flow I feel so much . . .
