Whenever I visit a new city, I search for the best workouts and fitness studios to try when I'm there. And usually I have no luck! I always just have to google search and see what I can find nearby, or I put a search out on social media to see if anyone has recommendations. So today I am sharing a list of my favorite workouts in St. Louis. Maybe locals will read and try something new, and I certainly hope some visitors will give these spots a try. There are plenty more I have never tried, . . .
Hey STL friends! Some of you may remember a few years ago when I ran a 5k called CDM Mind and Body. It was such a fun day dedicated to celebrating health, and I'm excited to share it with you again. Before the race a few years ago with Becca! This year's race is at the beautiful Tower Grove Park on Saturday, May 27th 2017 at 8am. Online registration ends on Wednesday May 24th, at 5pm. This year the day's activities include the Tower Grove Farmer's Market (my FAV!), Yoga by . . .
This past Wednesday I was invited to a twilight yoga session at The Chase Park Plaza. The event was for local St. Louis influencers (which means I got to see Katie and Lindsay!) as away to promote the fitness and wellness offerings at The Chase. The Chase Park Plaza is a historic hotel and residence in the Central West End that includes restaurants, a movie theatre, special event space, bars, a pool deck and more! It is an incredible space with a cool history featuring tons of . . .
Heyyyy, friends! Happy Saturday! My day started perfectly with the sweetest puppy cuddles. In case you don't follow me on social media, I am obsessed with my roommate's dog, Gus. He is the cutest -- barely ever barks, is a great fetch player, and and gives nearly human-like hugs. I was up a little earlier than I expected to be, so I decided to join a yoga teacher training friend for yoga at the park! My knee is feeling a little bit better, and stretching helps a ton, so I figured I'd . . .
Hey everyone! Today was all about getting 'ish done. Phone calls, errands, last minute house cleaning stuff, and of course some research work. Days like that feel SO good - so many things checked off the list. I took some pictures now that the new house is a little more put together. It's not perfect -- things still need to be hung, a few changes hopefully to be made when some income allows -- but I am so in love with it. I still can't believe we found a place that had everything on our . . .
Under the crushing amount of debt that we are, my classmates and I are always looking for discounts and freebies. This is where social media comes in -- FOLLOW LOCAL BUSINESSES! This is how you find out about cool events and specials!! I saw an post on Facebook for a FREE WEEK of classes at a local fitness studio, Dragonfly Fitness. I immediately shared it with my girlfriends, and next thing I know we've all got workout classes planned together! LOVE the studio motto:) I had no idea . . .
This first week back at school has been so fun! Breaks are almost sad because everyone is gone -- I love my friends and classmates and have so much fun with them, even if means being in classes and studying a lot too:) I'm glad everyone is back! Wednesday night I tried a new restaurant - Lulu's Local Eatery. It's all vegan which brings me back to my vegetarian days when I would have been all over this place. Even though I eat everything now, I still love trying creative foods and think vegan . . .
I have been so pleasantly surprised by the St. Louis yoga scene since moving back. A few years ago there were just a few studios to check out, but now there are a ton more (including my beloved Baptiste style Metro!) -- plus now we have YogaBuzz! Yoga Buzz is a one-year-old St. Louis nonprofit created by an adorable lady named Elle. They put on events all over the city (Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Fox Theater, the Planetarium, a taco restaurant...!) and the idea is to make yoga a fun event . . .
This Thursday is the 5th Annual Missouri Eating Disorder Advocacy Day. This event was rescheduled because of snow last month (ironic), but it's s upposed to be clear by Thursday. I have been in contact with the organizer, and here's what she said we'd be doing: Meet at 10am in the First Floor Rotunda to begin Lobby training. Pick up a training packet, learn the details, what we'll be doing, talking points etc. Go in GROUPS to your respective legislator's office to discuss the . . .
