I've owed you all a Louisville Favorites post for a while. And now that my move is less than a month away, I finally put it together. //via// Louisville is an AWESOME city. I grew up in St. Louis, and Louisville feels like a smaller slightly more southern version of home. It's definitely a "midwestern southern town" and a "southern midwest town. " Tons of parks, a great foodie scene, hometown sports, an super fun traditions like horse racing and bourbon drinking. I'd highly recommend a . . .
Y'all...yesterday I started packing for my move. It's still over 5 weeks away, but since I'm driving home this weekend before I fly to Colorado I am going to bring home a bunch to lighten the load for later. PACKING! Gosh that makes me sad. Anyway, I never even gave you guys a tour of my little apartment here so I took some pictures before I started boxing things up. I LOVE where I live -- the location rocks, it's plenty of space for me, and I am in love with the kitchen. I'm really going . . .
Each year when Lent comes around, my old posts on meal ideas for Fridays get a bunch of hits. I wrote those posts about four years ago when I was a vegetarian and so Friday in Lent was just any other day, but I thought I'd update them this year. What To Eat On Fridays In Lent Part One What To Eat On Fridays In Lent Part Two Here are some of my current favorite meatless meal ideas: 1. Eggs on Avocado Toast with Sea Salt 2. Did you all catch the dresses last night? At first glance...not impressed. I didn't even get to watch the red carpet (I don't have cable and the boys insisted on football) but I did convince them to watch a little bit of the opening monologue and ceremony before Downton Abbey started. Even the guys like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler! Never fear though. Through intense internet stalking, I've been able to determine my fav looks of the night. There were tons of pretty dresses, but still none that . . .
Y'all, these antibiotics rock. (For those of you just tuning in, I was prescribed antibiotics for SIBO. Read about that here.) This is a perfect example of how I absolutely believe in and promote lifestyle and more holistic approaches to wellness, but also know that western medicine is powerful and wonderful and has a hugely important place in our healthcare system. Yesterday was my last day of taking the Xifaxin my GI doctor prescribed for my SIBO, and they've been GREAT. I haven't had . . .
I do most of the cooking for JC and I, but he definitely has some specialties. This Sweet Chili Soy Salmon was one of the first things he made for me. (He attributes it to his mother though...so honest.) He is a master of the grill, I prefer to bake it because I'm scared of the grill and need to be taught how to use it. It is SUPER simple -- only 2 ingredients -- and OH so delicious. I love to scoop some of the glaze in the pan over my salmon before I eat it. The soy cuts the sweetness of . . .
Did you watch the Oscar's last night? I thought Ellen did a great job. Lots of beige and nude on the Red Carpet, which usually aren't my favorites, but I liked a few! There were TONS of amazing dresses! Here are my picks. (images from hollywoodlife.com) Amy Adams Cate Blanchett Emma Watson. (I'm obsessed with her.) Jennifer Lawrence. Kate Hudson. Lupita Nyong'0 Maria Menounos Jenna Dewan Tatum What were your favorites? . . .
