TOTALLY forgot that I was supposed to show you the Christmas gift I made for my friend Lauren. I left y’all with a little teaser that it included these…
Did anyone make any guesses?
Well what I made my wine loving friend was super easy personalized wine glasses! I actually didn’t find this craft on Pinterest, but I did promptly pin it when I found it on a website.
First step is to use the stickers to put your design on your wine glasses. I did one that just said Lauren and one with her initials and polka dots (the smily face stickers). Make sure the stickers are firmly in place.
Next, generously apply the etching paint over the whole wine glass. It should be thick!
The directions say to only let it sit for a minute before washing it off with water, but that short amount of time freaked me out so I gave it about five before sticking it under the faucet and using a paper towel to get the paint off.
I wasn’t quite satisfied with the darkness of the frost after one round, so I left the stickers in place and repeated the process. I’d highly recommend doing two rounds if you try it because the wine glasses with only one round of paint didn’t turn out as well.
Once the paint is rinsed off, you’re left with this:
Then simply peel off the stickers (and tape I used around the stem so it would remain clear) and you’re all finished! No drying time at all.
Voila! A super easy, super adorable personalized gift. I love the idea of making these for a group of friends or making a whole set of glasses for someone. You could get so creative with the designs!
