Heyyyy, friends! Happy Saturday!
My day started perfectly with the sweetest puppy cuddles. In case you don’t follow me on social media, I am obsessed with my roommate’s dog, Gus. He is the cutest — barely ever barks, is a great fetch player, and and gives nearly human-like hugs.
I was up a little earlier than I expected to be, so I decided to join a yoga teacher training friend for yoga at the park! My knee is feeling a little bit better, and stretching helps a ton, so I figured I’d go and just do what I could.
A man named Sat Inder teaches Ashtanga yoga at the Tower Grove Park farmer’s market each Saturday morning. He gets between 100 and 200 people to come, and it’s all donation based. He came and taught us as part of yoga teacher training so it was neat to go take one of his community classes. He’s a riot and totally unlike any yoga teacher I’ve ever met. Check out this 2012 article on him:)
It was a beautiful cooler morning, too. Doing yoga on uneven grass is hard, but it felt amazing to be outside and moving after being sidelined for a week!
After the class I wandered the farmer’s market briefly. I was bustling and full of the most amazing looking produce and food! I totally would love to do all my grocery shopping at a local farmers market one day.
I did end up getting some homemade chicken tamales. I hadn’t eaten, and with most of my food lost due to a 3 day power outage this past week,
I needed to grab something out. I took them over to my parents’ house and dug in. SO delicious!
I was at my mom’s because I had plans to see Finding Dory with her and my aunt!
It was super cute with some really hilarious parts that are likely totally lost on kids. Plus time spent with the girls in the family is always fun. The three of us are very sarcastic and constantly joking around.
Post-movie I ran to Lucky’s Market to do my groceries shopping. I don’t go often because it’s not super close to my house, but it’s fairly close to my parents’. They usually have some really good deals on produce and meat, which is exactly what I wanted! I’m looking to start cooking with different cuts of meat, both for variety and because they can be less expensive, and I got some really good steals! I wish Lucky’s was closer!
Now I’m home on the couch doing some meal planning and emails until I go babysit tonight. I love the kiddos I’m watching so it should be a blast!
I definitely want to make it to yoga and the farmers market more regularly. I can tend to be lazy around the on the weekends, but it’s so wonderful to get out and enjoy all that Summer in St. Louis has to offer!
