Five Things Making Me Happy

Seeing P!! Like I said in my LDR post, it’s tough to be in a military relationship because their schedules change at the drop of a hat. Well, P ended up coming home early from an assignment which means I can go see him this weekend! We bought the flights (with Southwest points so it’s pretty much free, right? ;) ) on Wednesday and off I go to Texas today. Not exactly a “cool travel spot” to mark off on our map, but at least we’re together.

Girls On The Run. I had coaches training on Sunday, and it made me SO excited. I really didn’t know how each lesson went, but now that I’ve gotten a feel for the different topics taught and activities done, I CANNOT wait. It is such a positive atmosphere.

Making my Treadmill Desk. I haven’t even used it since I made it, but I still have this stupid smug feeling because I actually managed to build something. I told my dad he should use it too with his Ipad, but he didn’t seem all the interested.

Spin class. I’m having a weird love affair with spinning right now.

My parents. I wasn’t sure how living at home would be. I adore my parents, but we can definitely get irritated with each other. I was concerned that living at home might bring that out, but instead it’s been wonderful! I should probably knock on wood, but I’ve been helping them out a bunch and it’s been really fun having them around to chat and hang out with.

Your Turn! What’s making you happy this week?

Comments

  1. You are making me want to go out and buy a treadmill desk. I love it!

Getting a manicure yesterday sure made me happy.

  2. I get to see my parents this weekend and I cannot wait!

  3. I love reading your favorite posts of the week! You always link such great stuff.

Anyways, random question for you. How come you eat just the egg white? You lose so many nutritional benefits by not eating the yolk. You said you weren’t trying to lose weight and I feel like eating egg whites is always a dieting thing–totally just curious why!

    • Mostly because I have a carton of egg whites and its so easy just to microwave them! I don’t like the texture of the yolk when it’s microwaved. I eat plenty of dippy eggs too…I do both! Just totally depends on the meal/how I’m feeling. And while lower in calories, egg whites are often used in body building meal plans and those people are getting tons of calories to build muscle!! They can fit into any diet, depending on your reason/ need (protein vs fat vs low cal vs just tastes so dang good)

  4. the fact that itz friday is making me VERY happy! are you a bikram yoga fan? i think i’m going to do a class on sunday morning if you’re interested…….

  5. Your lunch looks delicious. A bagel would be amazing right now. I love all the links to posts you put up- it is a great way to discover blogs we don’t already read!

  6. Thank you for the wonderful shout out!

  7. Going home to see my family this weekend!

  8. Those are all great! I loved seeing my blog really start to progress this week from the work I’ve been putting into it. Pretty gratifying.

  9. I love Indian food, those masala chickpeas look awesome! It actually makes me so happy that after meeting Peter totally by chance, you two are still together, love it!

  10. I too am having a weird love affair with spin class! Thanks for including my post on here as well. It took awhile for me to write and glad it’s getting such great & positive feedback. xoxo

  11. Hi! Just wondering what you use as the bread base for those sandwiches? Is it bagel thins?

  12. It is so exciting that you can see P today! My hubby is a Navy pilot and I remember those days when we were waiting for the military to tell us when we can see each other next. Your dating adventures remind me of ours and almost in all the same places : ) Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy every moment.

  13. Today’s my sister’s 18th birthday so that makes me pretty darn happy!

  14. You eat such a tiny lunch for someone who works out like a maniac. Around 300 calories. I honestly don’t understand why someone who claims to know so much about nutrition would even have a carton of egg whites in her fridge.

    • I eat multiple small meals and snacks throughout the day to get all my calories. I like it better when I’m at home and get snacky anyway. And egg whites are fine and can have a place in a healthy diet. Eating egg whites does not mean the whole eggs are evil- they are very nutritious and I eat them too.

  15. What’s making me happy this week is getting things done and doing some new workouts!

  16. That sandwich sounds delicious! I am trying to lose weight too, so I think that would be a great addition to my meal plan. With weight loss goals, it is always great to find new ideas to mix things up–you always have great ones. Cannot wait to try it Have fun this weekend!!!

  17. I’m seriously impressed that you made your own treadmill desk. We were talking in my nutrition class today how they were such a good idea but so expensive so not very practical for most people and I raised my hand telling them that you made your own! So hopefully you don’t mind that shout out of mine, ha maybe you’ll get a few new followers from it, (or perhaps just some requests to make a few more treadmill desks). Really though, impressive work. I love how resourceful you are!

  18. Just so you know…the title of your post is 1.18.12 when it should be 1.18.13 :)
