Life is all studying, all the time over here. I think we’ve all officially hit crunch time for our boards exam in April, and balancing fun with studying is the new challenge. We all know we have to keep our sanity, but how much time can we afford to take off? I’m really working on saying no more — to things like subbing yoga classes, babysitting, etc. I enjoy those things and in the past my flexible schedule has allowed them, but right now I need to devote any time I have to studying.
We also just got our 3rd year schedules!! We all have the same 6 rotations, but there is a lot of strategy to the order you have them. We got to put in our preferences and then there was a lottery. I luckily got one of my top choices – I’ll be starting with Psych/Neuro, then Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OBGYN, Pediatrics, and finally Surgery. I can’t wait to get started!!
Enough about school. Let’s talk about some Friday Favorites!
I have had a couple of charity events recently and this dress has gotten lots of compliments! I’m not a huge Express shopper, but popped in one day and there were actually a few dresses I liked! This one is actually a little risqué for me, but my friends assured me it was okay. It comes in other colors too.
I bound my First Aid book and then tabbed the sections, plus using binders and spreadsheets and colored pens….I LOVE it. Is The Container Store anyone else’s idea of heaven? Now if I can just DO all of studying I’m organizing…
Friends at Yoga!
A few friends came to the yoga class I teach on Friday nights!! My yoga studio is a little far from school so not many classmates make it out there, but it’s so fun to share my yoga with them. I think a few more are coming tonight, too!
Can’t believe I just got my crockpot out for the first time this year! I love this super simple recipe and love that I can modify it. This week I subbed quinoa for the beans and added some squash, plus melted cheese on top — not exactly chili anymore, but so yum!
Parade Committee Meetings
I’m on the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee here with my dad and brother — such an Irish Catholic St. Louis thing! We’ve started our bi-weekly meetings now that it’s coming up, and it’s so fun to see everyone! I don’t have a huge role (especially this year since I’ll be busy with boards) but a bunch of younger people have joined the committee lately and it’s great to hang out with them.
Fun at the Parade Committee Dinner last year
Figuring out that it’s easier to curl my hair than straighten it has saved me so much time! This curling wand is the easiest, and works so well, even on my super thick hair. I can do anything from a big head of curls to slight waves. Highly recommend!
Alright I’m off for the day! I’ve got a workout, a meeting, and then a bunch of studying before I teach tonight. Have a great day!
