I totally forgot about cold weather. Thank you, Texas, for providing me a year and a half of warmth. I find it funny that it actually never snowed when I lived there, but they get snow a month after I leave. And “snow” to them is a light dusting that closes down the city, so really it would have been cool for it to happen and gotten a day off work, but I can live without below 32 degree temperatures.
Anyway, here in St. Louis I get regular midwest weather, and parking my car in the driveway means I get regular midwest frost. I totally forgot about having to let your car warm up and the frost melt off before you can actually drive. I’m glad I left early for spin class (and I’m also glad I have a huge bright green puffer coat with a fur hood to keep me warm while I wait in the car.) Driving like this would not be safe.

SO yes, I went to spin Tuesday morning! I woke up and made my usual oatmeal with almond butter for breakfast, got a little work done (why did I get billed $4,000 from a school I don’t go to?), and then let my car warm up before driving to spin.
And you’ve probably realized that I AM able to still go to my family’s gym! WOO!

9:30 is a super fun time to work out because it’s right after all the moms have dropped their kids off at school. Me at the moms. Many of them super crazy fit, also. They must wonder what I’m doing there.
I’d never had this instructor before and she KICKED MY BUTT. Probably the hardest spin class I’ve ever been to. We’d do a track of sprints, then I’d think we would take it easy with some slow hills, but NOPE! A hill with…SPRINTS! I was dying, but in a great way. I almost thanked her after class, but then I didn’t know if she would take “that was the HARDEST CLASS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO” in a good or bad way, so I didn’t.

On the way home I chatted with Lauren, who was on her drive to her exciting new adventure in Chicago! I love her.
The afternoonw as shower–>lunch ( egg white, hummus, and spinach sandwich with veggies and an apple. Loving that sandwich combo lately.)

Dentist–> Luna Bar snack–>some work –>pick up mom since she is getting her car serviced (= garage spot for me = no frost tomorrow!) –>make dinner.
I forced my family to use up leftovers and dig into the freezer instead of buying something new. You have heard how much I like cleaning out the freezer, and I’m determined to actually use the stuff we have in there! We had:
- Leftover wild rice mixed with dried cherries, toasted walnuts and cherry balsamic dressing.
- Grilled chicken from the freezer
- Sweet potatoes that I had in the pantry
- Brussel Sprouts
- Bread from the freezer
- Leftover crescent/cheese/chicken thing
And we all made mish-moshes of what we wanted, mine on a bed of mixed greens.

I also had some chocolate pudding and banana for dessert. And then did a little more computer work before bed. Each day is different still, since I’ve got so many little projects going on. I’m loving it though!
- What’s the hardest workout class you’ve ever done?

I can’t remember the hardest workouts, but I just know that sometimes they suck and I’m literally thinking about when it’s going to be over so I can stop (in a good way) the entire time. Like with yoga. Each time I go, in the middle of the class I’m like “wow this sucks, my legs are burning” but I keep coming back. Also hate snow right now. It’s felt like summer for so many weeks since I’ve been home I forgot that New England summers have a way of ruining workout plans.
To me every single workout class is extremely hard.. I’ve just never been able to get into them!
Girl, you still NEED to take one of my classes. I would definitely kick your ass (in a good way of course!)
So so good to catch up with you yesterday. <3 you too!!
GAH I would love to! let’s make that happen!
OMGOSH.
I need to try spinning again.
I did once.

KICKED MY A**
the boot camp class i take 4-5 times a week has it’s moments when it’s SUPER hard. i love it though! hard workouts are the best workouts!
I used to take these boot camp classes with a crazzzzy trainer (in a good way). She was like Jillian Michaels on crack, and I loved it. There’s nothing better than a great workout.
That seems tough.. My hardest workout are some of the CrossFit workouts. I can’t pinpoint one in particular but their are some that I literally think I died in and then came back to lfe!
hahah totally understand – crossfit can be KILLER!
I used to live in Buffalo, NY – AKA the snow capital of the whole United States
I miss the winters sometimes, but it can get brutal! Your spin class looks fun, and funny that you get to do it with all the moms! haa!
I have only taken a couple spin classes and they were SO hard. Definitely not my favorite thing, but a great workout! I love that you are at the gym with all the moms haha and I try to get my parents to have dinner with stuff we have on hand but they refuse most of the time. I swear our freezer stock just grows and grows and it frustrates me!
My gym has a 45-minute treadmill class that is basically spinning class with running. It’s intense!! Lots of hills and sprint drills and every time I go I leave absolutely drenched with sweat. It’s amazing.
That sounds awesome!!!
Okay I live in SoCal, and I’m scraping ice off my windsheild too…what the heck, man? That’s not supposed to happen!
My hardest class workouts are a tie between advanced cardio hip-hop, and pre-belt test workouts when I was in karate in high school…I love the feeling of being so full of endorphins and so exhausted at the same time that you don’t know whether to cry for joy or pass out…good times!
Hardest workout class I’ve ever been to is probably body pump. So hard! I wish my gym offered it so I could do it regularly
Spinning totally depends on the instructor (as do most classes) I’ve sat through some pretty boring spin classes because the instructor and music were just not motivating!
