A few weeks ago I posted about a sweet snack that I’ve been making since I was in college, and many of you were intrigued.

Really, it’s just a chocolate flavored yogurt. By using cocoa powder, stevia, and Greek yogurt you can create a healthy dessert with reasonable calories.

The Greek yogurt provides tons of satiating protein and friendly probiotics to aid digestion. And we all know chocolate is amazing for mental health, but did you know cocoa can decrease blood pressure, increase good HDL cholesterol, and potential help prevent heart disease and diabetes?*
As if you needed another excuse:)
The problem is that chocolate desserts usually involve lots of sugar and other not-so-great for you ingredients. Not so in this little treat! All you need is 1 container of plain Greek yogurt, a little sweetener, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Just mix it well and it turns into a healthy, chocolatey, creamy mousse!

Ingredients:
- 1 container plain Greek yogurt of choice
- ~5 drops NuNaturals stevia or other sweetener of choice
- 1 TBSP cocoa powder
Directions:
Mix together with a spoon and EAT!

I often eat it on it’s own for dessert, but it’s great with added banana, in a breakfast bowl, or on top of a sweet potato like I had the other day. Really, chocolate is good with anything so be creative.

Dig in!

Yum, this looks good. I miss having greek yogurt. I may try reintroducing it in small doses. Plus the tanginess of the greek yogurt and cocoa powder goes so well together I find!
Love this dessert! I make it all the time & had it last night. I add carob chips too.
good!!! I am not the BIGGEST carob fan, but I think they’d be great mixed in! I mean what wouldn’t be?
I make this all the time but use 1 scoop chocolate protein powder. Always hits the spot! Its even better when you add a scoop of peanut butter in there!
ooh yes protein powder amps it up even more!
Ok, I love this twist on Greek yogurt as a dessert! Such a great idea.
It’s HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, not HLD.
fingers typed wrong. Thanks for catching it!
That sounds delicious! I’m not a big yogurt fan but it looks really good.
mmmmmmm this sounds right up my alley.
Love this! I make a mock cheesecake using whipped cottage cheese, stevia and greek yogurt that I love to eat at night. But now I think I might have to give this one a try.
Ooh how do you flavor the cheesecake??
Whenever I look at ALL the links of Link Love, I always click on yours even without looking to see who posted the link! There is something about the way you post about your blog update that makes me gravitate towards it! Uh, it’s probably because… the food porn you post is SCRUMPTIOUS!!! LOL!
Sweet that is SO sweet!! Seriously made my day
That’s actually one of my favourite combos! I like to use dutch cocoa powder sometimes though because it is darker, richer and yummier
Yum!! I just bought cocoa (it’s freezing in NYC!), so I’m going to try this tomorrow!
I finally tried your mousse. Sooo good, thanks for sharing!
YAYAY!! Hope you keep loving it!
“By using cocoa powder, stevia, and Greek yogurt you can create a healthy dessert with reasonable calories.”
I actually don’t understand why you can’t just eat a real chocolate mousse every one in awhile. You don’t need to be watching your calories. Especially given the fact that you built yourself a treadmill desk to burn even more.
Go ahead, white knights. Jump all over me.
No you’re right. And I do eat regular chocolate and desserts quite often. But balance is about sometimes choosing the healthier option too.
If you do not like my content, please discontinue reading.
I used to only mix yogurt, stevia, and cocoa powder back in my ED days. It does taste great and that is totally fine if you want to eat that, I just don’t know if you should be calling it “dessert.” Just food for thought <— no pun intended
It’s a healthy dessert! (kind of like how fruit is sometimes on dessert menus) And could be more of a dessert depending on what you mix in. No use arguing over semantics:) But yes it’s delicious.
Hey Clare! Have you ever tried raw cacao powder? It’s chocolate in it’s raw form (hence unsweetened), and is full of antioxidant flavonoids. Chocolate, a superfood? Yes please! I’ve been adding mine to smoothies – it’s delish.
This sound yummy, can’t wait to try it! I don’t have liquid stevia, hoping a touch of honey will work! And I like the other reader’s suggestion of chocolate protein powder!
