I just made a quick trip to Indianapolis and Louisville!
My uncle had surgery in Indianapolis this past Monday (he is doing well), so my mom and aunt planned to drive over to spend some time with him. I decided to join them, with the added bonus of seeing my best friend, Laura! Once the Indianapolis portion was planned, I decided I should swing by Louisville on the way home too and see Brittany.
Tuesday afternoon I went straight to the hospital to see my uncle, then over to The Hot Room to take Laura’s Inferno Hot Pilates class. It’s a fast paced, tabata-style circuit class with a core focus and I loved it!
After class we showered, grabbed groceries, and then went back to her place to make dinner.
We exchanged gifts as well (I love my Vinyasa Wrap!) and then played with the yoga wheel I got her all night! I have some bruises, but she managed to do some impressive stuff! It’s actually much more stabilizing than it looks – great for practicing inversions.
Wednesday morning started with a trip to Juice Bar where Laura had a quick meeting. I got some blog work done while I was there and had a pineapple greens juice.
That evening I met Laura back at The Hot Room for a few hours of working a shopping event where men could come shop for their wives. The Hot Room carries the cutest yoga clothes! I was eyeing these Liquido leggings.
We picked up sushi and wine on the way home, and just hung out for the rest of the night. No crazy yoga poses this time.
Thursday morning I drove down to Louisville and went straight to see Brittany and this little cutie. We had lunch, played with the kids, and then did a little shopping which was a terrible idea because traffic was horrific.
I of course had to go see the kids I nannied when I lived there, who are cute as ever! I caught up with their mom and got to hold the new baby as well. I miss them so much and I am always so excited that they remember me. They are my favorites! The little girl always says, “Clare, I want you to move back to Kentucky!” *weeps*
(Oh and I got her a Paw Patrol yoga mat for Christmas. It was a big hit!!)
I managed in the nick of time to make it to class at 502 Power Yoga, the studio where I fell in love with Baptiste Yoga back when I lived in Louisville. It was an incredible class, I saw old friends, and it got me fired up to teach back in St. Louis!
Brittany is a wonderful person and had this amazing dinner waiting for me. I eat so well when I’m with her. I also got to try some gluten free cupcakes she made – she is an amazing cook!
I’m going to head back to St. Louis after breakfast this morning, but I am so happy I got to see so many friends (and my uncle!) this week. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life, even if they are spread out all over the place. I know I will be very busy this spring and especially once I start clerkships, so it was important to me to make some time to see them while I still can.
And now the Christmas celebrations can begin!
