So I should be at the hospital today for my first day on wards, but turns out all the psychiatry residents are on a retreat so we were told to wait until tomorrow. I have a feeling in a few months I would die for something like this to happen, but right now I’m just eager to see patients! ((And I’d like my $150 refund for today, thank you.)) I’ve got a lot of little things on my to-do list, so I’ll be a productive day off at least!
I kept wanting to share the things I was loving with y’all during my two months off of blogging. I tried to remember most of them and am sharing them today. So here’s what I’ve loved in the past two months!
I am always on the hunt for green dresses due to my yearly St. Patrick’s Day Gala, but add 8 weddings to the mix this year and I was definitely dress hunting! This dress was in my cart for a few weeks before I finally bit the bullet. I LOVE it! It fits perfectly, is really comfortable, and I got tons of compliments. You better believe I’ll be repeating it:)
Parks & Rec
Am I the only person who hadn’t watched Parks & Rec?? My friend Eric introduced it to me and it was the perfect quick study break. I’m kind of obsessed with Ron Swanson and am finally catching on to lots of the quotes and jokes people have made that were from the show.
PS: I’m currently in the middle of 13 Reasons Why and then it is NO MORE NETFLIX because I need to be reading and studying! I get too sucked in!
Rodan & Fields / Beauty Counter
I know these two are often pitted against each other, but I’m actually using both right now! I decided to give Reverse from Rodan & Fields another try after talking with Colleen and slightly freaking out about my approaching birthday. After looking into getting good skincare products from Sephora, I realized it was going to end up being more expensive to buy it all separately! That’s what really sealed the deal.
If I’m perfectly honest, I still haven’t seen a whole lot of changes. I know I don’t have a ton of problems and it doesn’t happen overnight so I’m hoping my dark spots will start to fade, otherwise I’ll look to other lines. Regardless, considering my old skin care regimen was nothing, my skin feels great and I know it’s a lot cleaner. I’m also really curious about the AMP roller and Lash Boost!
Teri always raves about Beauty Counter and I’d been looking for a good, light every day tinted moisturizer. I decided to try out the Dew Skin and she threw in the Rejuvenating Eye Cream for me too! So far I really like them both. The Dew Skin is really light (I think the Tint Skin has more coverage), but sort of blends in with your skin to even out and brighten. I think it’ll be great the hospital since I don’t want to be wearing a lot of make up.
I use the Eye Cream before bed and in the morning for my puffy dark circles. It also is great just for moisturizing that area because it tends to get dry and them any make up cakes. Plus knowing there aren’t any funky ingredients is good for peace of mind.
(Note – I don’t sell either of these. I’m using Teri and Colleen’s links! I just know we all probably see tons about these lines online and it’s helpful to get reviews from non-sales people.)
I’ve gone in phases with SRT for the last few years, but I loved it for some morning reflection during a really stressful period. I’m going to try to keep it going! One day I may even try the workbooks.
Speaking of morning reflection, I started a gratitude journal to combat the stress and anxiety of Step One. I just kept a little notebook by my bed and tried to do it first thing. There were some really bad days where I had trouble thinking of things, but most days I had trouble sticking to just three! Coffee made a frequent appearance.
Teri recommended these to me (have you noticed Teri is awesome?) and I have made them a few times now! I don’t have much experience with beef aside from burgers so this was a little intimidating, but it’s so easy and so, so good! It makes a ton of food to last me all week. I’m actually finishing up a batch right now.
Colored pens are my jam. The make studying so much better and prettier. I got these as a gift and they are fantastic.
I wore my Wanderer Bracelets every day while studying. They were a little reminder of my goals and focus. I love that these support village artisans in Bali, and they are always coming out with cute new designs! Use the code FITTINGITALLIN20 for a discount!
That’s it! Gotta get cracking on that to-do list and read a bunch to prep for the psych ward tomorrow. Have a great day!
(Oh – and happy birthday to my dad and my aunt!!)
