Last night was med prom!
Most medical schools have a “prom”, which is kind of silly, but also SO fun. At SLU it is primarily first years that go, although there were quite a few fourth years there for their last hurrah.
We took it as an excuse to get all dolled up and go take pictures in Forest Park, which is the popular spot for high school kids to take pictures for their actual proms. It was packed with people, and I’m sure we looked just like another group of 18 year olds!
(My outfit details later in the post)
The event was at a place called Neo on Locust Street downtown. Our class social committee did an amazing job! Look how beautiful the room was.
We had an open bar, live band, seated dinner and even a photo booth. It was SUCH a blast to see almost our entire class there looking all fancy. The girls had the most beautiful dresses, and I was eyeing ones to borrow for other occasions:)
(We had an honorary seat for Alli, who was away for her sister’s wedding!)
I was actually pretty happy with how my hair turned out!! I curled it using this wand, and just spent some extra time making sure all the curls were in the same direction and held well. I did three layers, then combed through them with my fingers. And a whooole lotta hair spray.
The outfit details. Crop top was $10 from TJ Maxx. Skirt is from SheIn. That site can be sketchy quality wise, so my advice is to read the reviews!! I bought a large in the skirt and the waist is still almost too small, so thank goodness I read to size up! Shoes are J.Crew Factory. Necklace was borrowed from a friend.
We had the most amazing night, and it was a great way to celebrate the (almost) end of our first year. Can you believe it? One month, and I’m finished for summer. Time has flown!! I’m so so grateful to be in medical school at SLU, in my home town, with the most amazing classmates. <3
- Tell me about YOUR prom!! Did you love your dress? Who did you take?
