I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty great, especially since we don’t have a test this week so there wasn’t anything too immediate to study for. Those types of weekends are so nice, but that will all change soon because I’m going to have to start doing boards review that will take up lots of my fun free time. But it’ll be worth it!
I actually ended up seeing three movies this past weekend! Well, the first was actually on Thursday night when I got to watch The Natural with my mom at Busch Stadium. It was part of an event for season ticket holders that included free food, access to the field and clubhouse, autographs and photos with the World Series trophies.
Friday was class and a trip to the pulmonary function lab to learn about the testing and diagnosis process. Good news: my lungs are great!
Friday afternoon I taught a yoga class at Metro. I think I’m going to end up taking over that class and have it be my regular spot on the schedule. Fridays from 5:30-6:30 are usually pretty free for me and the rare times they aren’t I’ll find a sub. Come flow with me!!
After yoga it was time for another movie. I saw Sully and loved it!! It actually seemed pretty short and had a semi-abrupt ending, but it was a great story and cool to learn more about what happened that day. What a hero.
Saturday morning I went to a local clinic to shadow a yoga class I’m going to start volunteer teaching on occasion. It was actually a no-show, but I got to chat with the current teacher about how she usually runs the class. It was very helpful because it’s definitely going to be more slow and restorative than my power classes at Metro. This coming Saturday will be my first time – I’m excited to start!
Saturday afternoon I babysit for two adorable kiddos and watched a sad, sad Notre Dame football game. I finished babysitting around 8pm and had movie plans at 9:30pm, so I ended up just going and studying at bit at the mall foodcourt. That was a first!
Saturday’s movie was a “quote-a-long” to Monty Python and The Holy Grail! That movie is one of my dad’s favorites and so we grew up watching it. I hadn’t actually seen it in a few years and it was really fun. Have you seen it??
Yesterday morning I went to an Active Nation Day event with Lindsay! She told me about it on Saturday and I immediately signed up to go to bootcamp with her. It was held outside at Ballpark Village and held by a local fitness apparel store called Dimvaloo. The Burn 1000 bootcamp we went to was KILLER. Sometimes I expect these “general public” fitness events to be pretty easy, but not this! It was 90 degrees, full sun, and we were dying. It made me realize I should do more high intensity and circuit workouts!
The afternoon was spent studying and grocery shopping with one of my roommates. It was nice to have a low-key Sunday to get prepared for the week. It’s a busy one coming up!
And now off to bed — up early for a morning workout before class! Have a great day!!
