I’m just back from a wonderful weekend in Orlando and popping in to let you know that today is the start of NEDA Awareness Week 2015.
Each year the National Eating Disorders Association dedicates a week to extra education, fundraising, and help for others get treatment. This year’s theme again is I HAD NO IDEA:
This year the National Eating Disorders Association is focusing on the importance of early intervention and recognizing the diverse experiences of people personally affected by disordered eating. Too often, signs and symptoms are overlooked as insignificant behaviors when in fact many of these are early warning signs of eating disorders. Each day during #NEDAwareness Week, we will be targeting a different audience with information, educational, resources and help.”
The main ways NEDA wants people to get involved are to dispel myths and provide accurate information about eating disorders, and being proactive about helping others that may be struggling. There are tons more ways to get involved listed in my NEDA Awareness Week post from last year, as well as on the NEDA website.
NEDA is an organization near and dear to my heart — providing tons of great information, volunteer service, and advocacy for proper treatment. The work they do is making a huge difference – just check out these 2014 stats.
I’ll be sharing a few more NEDA Awareness Week posts throughout the week, as well.
Hope you’re having a great weekend – back tomorrow with some manifesting and of course Oscar’s best dressed!
