Neurology was a very cool class. It’s crazy how complicated and detailed the brain is. I love knowing how it all works now!! But it also was incredible challenging, so I am very glad it’s over. It was the last big hurdle of the year — we only have a short Behavioral Medicine class left before summer — and finishing was such a relief.
I ended up studying for the final for 9 days straight. I made a study schedule and stuck to it, and while I always would like more time, I felt fairly good going into the test. I did better than on the first exam, passed the class, and was SO HAPPY when I walked out of that room! I could literally feel my heart calming down. I had been so stressed for the past few months.
Now I’m in Chicago!! This is the first time I’ve opened my computer since the test ended on Thursday morning and it has felt so good to relax. I’m exhausted from late nights out with friends, but also have indulged in movies in bed, yummy dinners, a Core Power Yoga class and plenty of wine.
I’m feeling so ready for a little break this summer. I know I’ll be working and traveling quite a bit (here are my summer plans!), but I’m also excited to not have the pressures of school for a while and be able to focus on me for a few weeks. I plan to really focus on eating in a way that makes me (and my annoyingly picky digestive system) feel great and doing plenty of stretchy, calming yoga. Next year is going to be a very demanding year, so I’d love to go into it feeling reenergized and on top of my game.
Behavior Medicine, my final class of the year, is basically a psychiatry class. I’ve heard it’s not too difficult, but I think I’ll also find it interesting because we will have lectures on eating disorders, anxiety, etc. I’m looking forward to it, and also to being able to connect with you guys here on the blog more often.
Hope you’re all doing well!!
