ATTENTION!
Morgan made me aware that requiring you all to purchase something in order to enter the giveaway is illegal. I looked it up, and in Missouri you can only do that if you are a charitable or religious group. I’d like to think I’m both, but unfortunately the government doesn’t recognize me as such.
SO, now you can enter the Stella & Dot Giveaway without having purchased something first! Check out the original post for the new entry rules. Good luck!

Yesterday I woke up feeling a little fuzzy due to some Tuesday night wine, so I gave myself plenty of time for breakfast and coffee before heading to my workout. I had a run in mind for today, and at the last minute decided to see if I could push myself on another tempo run. (For info on tempo runs, check out my explanation post!)

Success! I kept my incline at .5%, but increased my tempo speed to 7.7! That’s a 7:48 pace for 3 miles, which is much faster than I usually run. If I held that pace for a half marathon I’d finish right around 1:42:00! Crazy!
I got in a strength workout from Best Body Bootcamp, then rushed home for lunch and a long day of writing work.
It was Wednesday, which means it was my night to cook dinner for my parents. I usually just make something I’ve seen online or have been craving, but this time my mom had a request. She found a recipe in the newspaper and tore it out for me, so dinner was Ground Turkey with Asian Slaw.

I subbed ground turkey for the ground beef, and used some rice blends we had on hand instead of white rice.

I thought it was AWESOME. My mom and I both loved the bold asian flavors, and the meat had a little kick from the cayenne! My dad (who I have learned is the pickest person ever) thought it could have been better. I had seconds and would totally eat it again, and my mom ended up finishing all the leftovers.

Dessert. Recipe later today!

Goodnight!
- Have you ever made a recipe from the newspaper?
- Do you even still get the newspaper?
Kind of sad. This recipe was in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, but was actually taken from the Chicago Tribune.

My mom has made tons of recipes from the newspaper and I’ve copied a few of her’s. This one looks really good!
Oh my gosh-I want to see that dessert recipe ASAP! Looks SO good! Also-way to go with your run!
That dish looks awesome!
Reading the Sunday paper after y run is one of my favoirte things in life! It’s the little things
Congrats on your speedy run, that’s awesome!
I don’t even remember the last time I touched a newspaper. Crazy how technology has completely taken over!
My mom cuts out newspaper or magazine recipes all the time and tries to make them. I will if something jumps out at me but I usually stick to pinterest and blogs. That’s an awesome run! I can’t do speed on the treadmill. It bores me to no end.
You sound so happy at home Clare! Cannot wait to follow your journey back into projects and school
you rock
Haha, I can honestly say that I’ve never found a recipe that good in the newspaper (or any recipe, for that matter). It looks great!
That dinner looks good!
I don’t think I even knew they had recipes in the newspaper. Wait, what is a newspaper? LoL
That looks really good. Dads/Men are always picky eaters. Everything I make, my dad usually doesn’t like or pretends to like, haha!
