Last weekend I spent a whirlwind 30 hours in Florida celebrating my good friends Nicole and Valerio’s wedding.
Valerio is in my medical school class, and Nicole moved here from Florida to be with him so we’ve gotten to know her really well. They are both the sweetest, happiest people! And Valerio is from Italy, so we always get delicious food and wine:)
The wedding was at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, which was phenomenal. Great gym, stunning pool area, free beach chairs and umbrellas with each room, cookies and lemonade each afternoon! We were happy campers. The wedding wasn’t until 7pm, so we got all of Saturday at the beach! 12 of us from school went and we floated in the ocean all afternoon. A little too much sun, truly! Our shoulders were bright red in our dresses.
After the beach we all went up to get ready. I hadn’t gotten ready with a bunch of girls like that in so long! And then we took a million pictures outside before it all got started.
Fun fact: three of those dresses are mine! Two friends borrowed dresses from me – the floral is my senior prom dress (!!) and the blue strapless is from sophomore year of college. So glad they are still getting use!
The Jewish ceremony was absolutely beautiful and I loved learning about all of the traditions. Nicole was stunning and I definitely teared up a bit. These two have been together since high school (it’s what kept Valerio in the USA!) and are such a great match.
After the ceremony was cocktail hour outside, and then an all night reception. Seriously, the band played until 1am! We were on the dance floor the whole time and had a total blast. Sign of a great wedding!
Sunday we all met for an extravagant brunch and then a few more hours at the beach before I had to head to my flight. I’m so grateful to be invited and to get a little mini vacation with friends.
Congratulations Nicole and Valerio! Love you!
