So my knee has been acting up a little again. It's not remotely as bad as it was over the summer, but there have been a few twinges. There is also tons of crepitus (crackling) which scares me because I'm only 29. Anyway, I decided maybe all the plyometric circuits and jumping back into leg weights was too much too soon. Spinning is a great (fairly) knee-friendly way to get in a good leg workout, so I decided to get back into that by creating a new workout. It was time for some new music . . .
Happy Friday! Life is all studying, all the time over here. I think we've all officially hit crunch time for our boards exam in April, and balancing fun with studying is the new challenge. We all know we have to keep our sanity, but how much time can we afford to take off? Hi from the big midwest ice storm! Everything is closed today, including SLU! It's just now starting to ice and they are predicting half to an inch of ice today and tomorrow, so we are hunkered down at home. This time of year is hard for people trying to gain weight. Really, any time is in today's society. But especially at the start of a new year when the focus is on weight loss and health tips and gym memberships, doing the opposite is a huge struggle. I know that when I was recovering from my eating disorder, both the full Anorexia Nervosa and the later recovery from Amenorrhea, I had some really bad moments. Classes start again today, and I've been using the past few days to get a plan together for this spring. I have 14 weeks until I take step one of boards. Just typing that freaks me out. That seems so short. I have two more classes left - Endocrinology then Skin, Bone & Joint - so for the next two months I'll be balancing studying for classes and studying for boards.
