Happy Friday!! It sort of feels like a real Friday to me since I am working Sunday this week instead of Saturday. Sunday is my last day on call with my team - crazy! Only six more days left here, then I spend my last four weeks of Internal Medicine at a different hospital. I've heard it's a little less intense there which sounds pretty nice:) Sharing another round of Friday Favorites today! Vega One Mocha + Cold Brew Mocha is my favorite Vega flavor for smoothies, but the containers . . .
Hey strangers! Definitely didn't mean to take this much time off of blogging, but life has been nuts around here! Last week was brutal. I somehow got the perfect storm of super long hours at the hospital, a big assignment due last Friday, and a nasty cold. My trip to Seattle left me so tired, then add the sinus congestion and stress of school and I was just not feeling it. I was totally down about medicine as a career. Awful attitude! Luckily I had a day off on Sunday and slept a ton, and . . .
Happy Friday! This is actually a weird week for my Internal Medicine team because our call day falls tomorrow. Each team is on call every five days, and since we are on call on Saturday that means we have to work post-call on Sunday. As students we usually work Saturday and have Sunday off, but not this time! I actually already had tickets booked to a wedding in Seattle, so I got permission to miss work on Sunday and make it up on a later day that I would have had off. So I'll leave for . . .
I love shopping at Target. Some of my most complimented pieces are from there! My most current fave is the Who What Wear line, but the brand new A New Day line is going to give it a run for its money. It's so cute and of course is a great price. And to brag a little - my sister-in-law is on the team at Target that helped create this line! It just came out this week and I already have a list of things I want. I definitely want to try these pants for work first. They are such a cute style, . . .
I am so incredibly grateful that my parents let me take friends down to the house they built on Hilton Head Island. It's about two years old now and I've managed to spend plenty of time there. They haven't retired yet, so I think they are happy to give it more use! We had a week off from clinicals, so I got to bring a few friends down an introduce them to the low country. Only one had been there before so it was fun to show them where I have been going almost my entire life. Anybody else big . . .
The next eight weeks are going to be really different than my summer of Family Medicine! Internal Medicine I will be on my internal medicine rotation, and will have four weeks on a general medicine team at the SLU hospital and then four weeks at another affiliated hospital. I'll work six days a week with one weekend day off. The hours should be around 7am-4pm most days, but till 9pm when I'm on evening call once or twice a week. It's hard to plan anything right now because I won't really know . . .
Popping by to share details about the outfits I've shared on Instagram in the past few weeks! We're leaving Hilton Head tomorrow morning and then it's back to normal (or actually crazier than normal) life when I start 8 weeks of Internal Medicine. Soaking up every last bit of sunshine and relaxation I can get! Hey friends!! I took my Family Medicine shelf exam on Friday so now I have a whole week off before I start internal medicine. A few friends and I are driving down to my parents' house in Hilton Head today and I cannot wait to spend a week by the pool and beach. We're going to drive a little north tomorrow to see the eclipse too! Today I'm sharing a few things I've been loving lately - article, clothes, makeup, flowers and more! Enjoy! I finally remembered to do a Med School Day In The Life in my last week of Family Medicine! This post follows a Monday, which was one of my two full days in clinic. Everyone has different Family Medicine assignments, so the schedules can be drastically different. I lucked out with my schedule and ended up with two full days and two half days each week (plus Wednesday when we had a full day of class and small groups.) I still feel like I learned a ton and got great experience, so it made for . . .
