Wow! I had no idea how many people use coconut oil as a beauty product. I was totally behind on that.
Last night I got together with some blog girlfriends for dinner.
It was a little all over the place – we were originally going to go to Fridas Vegetarian Deli, then realized it closed at 7pm. Then we decided on Nadoz, only to find that their cafe closed early too and our only option was to eat at the wine bar next door.
Just fine with us, though! VinoNadoz is little more upscale – dim lighting and a small but unique menu. They use local ingredients and had interesting dishes like a homemade squid ink pasta and pork belly.
My eyes were immediately drawn to the Winter Vegetable Bruschetta.
YUM. The portions were a little smaller than we had expected, but I had a big snack just an hour or so earlier so this was perfect for me.

Gooey caramelized onions piled high on crispy toast with a light schmear of goat cheese.

To.die.for.

And you can’t get better company! Linz you’ll probably recognize from the blog ItzLinz. She and I have gotten together a few times since I moved home. And Becca (who coincidentally is dating Linz’ cousin) is a reader that I have gotten to know over the last few months and is wonderful. She’s going to start her own blog! (right!?
)
Such a fun night just to relax and catch up.
PLUS when I got home, my older brother was over! (Fun fact: we call my brother ‘John Brady”, rarely just “John.”

We had a few hours of family time before I went up to bed.
- When’s the last time you had girl’s night?
- What’s one weird nickname you have in your family?

Your portion was small because you ordered from the “starters” section.
Actually, my portion was probably the largest of the three. It was a restaurant that just seemed to serve small plates. But since I was very hungry, it was the perfect size for me. The other girls may have wished for more, though!
Sounds like a lovely night!
I think I need to add to my 2013 bucket list to learn how to caramelize onions that well!
Yum! Onion and goat cheese is one of my favorite combos!
Just letting you know, I tried to click on Linz’ blog and the link is broken.
Love girls nights!
Hey girl! My blog is: http://itzlinz.com
I thought that’s what I put?! I’ll fix it
Just looking out for another Lynds/Linz/Linds!
Thanks!!
So fun!! We call my little brother “Boy.” EVen though he just turned 26 two days ago haha
Isn’t it awesome when you convince others to start blogging because you did? I love that! I convinced one of my friends to take the plunge and it’s really cool! I hate when my dinner isn’t big enough. I like to eat, so when I leave a restaurant feeling hungry I’m usually disappointed.
My last girls night was my best friends bachelorette party that I helped to plan. It was amazing! She got married yesterday.
I love that place! It’s so yummy!
Girls’ nights are the best! All of that food looks amazing.
In my family, we call my little brother “Jesse Bones” or “J Bones” because he was such a long and skinny newborn. He definitely chunked up after a few months, but the nickname stuck!
Girl’s nights rock, especially with blends! That bruschetta looks yumm!
cute outfit! miss your fashion posts.
Aww thanks! I kinda miss having a reason to get dressed up each day! I’ll try to update the fashion page as much as I can!
I had SO much fun! Yay for new friends! We need a repeat soon. Also definitely convinced Seth to go with me to froyo after, so rest assured I did not go hungry
Yesss smart woman!
Ahh I went to college with Becca! We had Italian together
. I knew she was from St. Louis, but what a small world! Becca, I can’t wait to start reading your blog!
