Apparently I’m loving a lot of things lately! I haven’t been able to stop adding things to the list. So let’s just get to it so you can get on with your Friday.
I’ve been using them a lot more regularly, especially to share what my days are like in the hospital and clinic. It’s so easy to just snap a quick video to say hi and chat with you all. I hope you enjoy it!
I don’t know why I waited so long to try these. They are SO good! Not too sweet which I like, but absolutely delicious and filling. The chocolate sea salt and maple sea salt are my favs. Definitely my go-to white coat snack these days!
Even more on this amazing company soon, but I couldn’t not mention the insane snacks I’ve been getting to try lately. SnackNation sends individual or company sized boxes full of healthy snacks from boutique companies. They will curate their favs, or you can create your own. My favs so far were the maple jerky and PB filled granola bar! They have a great 121 Delicious Healthy Snacks For Every Type of Snacker guide you should check out too!
And the best part – for every box purchased they donate a meal to Feeding America. Use code SnackBox20 for 20% off your order!
Cold Brew Concentrate
I love iced coffee in the summer, but had always just made a pot of coffee and stuck it in the fridge. I randomly saw a cold brew concentrate at Aldi of all places, and now it’s my every morning drink! I’ve also tried the Trader Joe’s brand and they are both great (and potentially the exact same ha.) Just mix with some water and throw in some ice. Drinking some right now, in fact.
My little brother and his wife used Amanda Forbes for their rehearsal dinner and wedding, and I am so impressed by the photos. It’s not even my wedding and I am obsessed!! They are just so beautiful. Also, the picture below of my brothers and me is just classic us.
I love all of the meal delivery programs out there, but hate that they usually take 30-45 minutes to make! Freshly solves that problem — healthy, chef-cooked meals delivered that reheat in 2-3 minutes. I got to choose from a wide menu of ALL gluten free, no refined sugar meals and every single thing was so delicious. I think my favorites were the baked penne and the shrimp fajitas. I LOVED coming home to a full meal ready to go in the fridge!
For my current budget it’s a little expensive, but for people that live in big cities like NYC and eat out most nights anyway, this is so perfect. I’m thinking I would love this while I’m in residency too and just want to plop down on the couch when I get home instead of worrying about food.
YOU should really try Freshly and use promo code med639 to get $20 off our 6 meal plan — that’s 6 chef-style meals for $40 (less than $7 a meal) which is way better than eating out.
My roommate Alli is a domestic goddess, and we now have a full garden in our backyard. She went all out with a full range of herbs, tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, and even a pumpkin plant! It’s so nice to be able to swing outside when I’m cooking. And she makes amazing water combos – adding some fresh fruit and mint to a glass of water feels so fancy.
I just recently, sort of on a whim, decided to really go heavy at the gym. I’ve been pretty good with upper body, but I have avoided legs since I hurt my knee last summer. I also finally hopped on the rower again now that my knee feels better, and I forgot how great of a workout that thing is. It feels good to work hard!
I have never had one specific company I love for all my make up, but Beauty Counter is becoming it! I started out with the Dew Skin after hearing Teri rave, and now I wear it every. single. day for a just a little brightness in my skin. Then I got to try the eye cream which I loved, and now I’m also using the Lip Sheer in Terra which is perfect for looking a little bit more put together without a major pop. Oh, and I have the Radiance Serum which I put on in the AM before my make up.
And exciting news – I’m hosting a Beauty Counter Live Social with Teri this coming Tuesday night on Facebook! So if you’ve been curious about the company, interested in more natural skin care, or just want to get some questions answered about which products are the best, come check it out! Here is the link. It’s 8pm EST.
Yep! I decided to get back out there 😉 And I know I owe you all a post on the whole dating and being almost thirty thing. But right now dating means 1. figuring out how to balance it with school and 2. I actually have to find things to wear other than work clothes and spandex. And it makes me want to buy everything! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale isn’t helping. This dress looks so fun to wear, I adore this preppy off the shoulder dress, and of course anything in green.
Lastly, a very very happy 30th to my childhood neighbor and good friend Alex! Have a great weekend, everyone!!
