Is it brutally hot where you are?
We’ve had a heat indexes around 100 for the past week, and with the humidity it’s suffocating!! WANT. POOL. NOW! Making a trip down to Hilton Head sound even more tempting. I still haven’t decided whether or not I’m going to go for a few days next week (to my parents’ house there), but I’m really leaning towards it. It just sounds so relaxing! I feel like that would be amazing to have right before school starts up again! Just deciding if the long drive is worth it….
Thought I’d pop in for a few Sunday updates!
This weekend was my fifth of Yoga Teacher Training. We’ve focused on Anatomy and Physiology, which has been so fun! I’ve gotten to be the teacher and share how absolutely fascinating the body is with my trainee friends. Today we are each presenting two yoga poses in terms of the muscles they activate and stretch, any potential injuries, anyone who should avoid the pose, and some modifications available. Then after a practice we’ll go into some final physiology of the body and a little practice teaching.
We only have three weekends left and she’s starting to put out on the Community Power schedule (the donation-based class that goes to charity) for some practice teaching. EEEK so exciting!
Some of my aunts and uncles have been in town this weekend! I got to see them for a bit Friday night after teacher training, then last night we all went to the Cardinals’ game. Tonight we are having a big family dinner at my parents’ house which should be so fun! They live in Indiana and Minnesota and I only get to see them about once a year, if that. It’s been so great to catch up.
In other (bad) news, I went to a massage therapist that was recommended to me. He actually is on faculty at a local school here and teaches Myofascial Release With Orthopedic Considerations, so I thought he might be interesting to talk to about the knee pain I’d been having!
The massage he gave me was fantastic (and very reasonably priced!!) but after doing a few tests on my knee, he says I need to see an Orthopedic Surgeon. He wouldn’t even touch it since he didn’t know what was wrong and didn’t want to make anything worse. So now I have an appointment next week and hopefully they can figure out what’s wrong. It’s been two weeks and there is still a ton of swelling and weird pains. Hoping it’s nothing too serious!
Okay, time for breakfast before I head back to teacher training! Adios!
